My passion for driving splendid supercars and hypercars and the desire to explore and get to know everything worth knowing, everything that has intrinsic value.

How many times, since navigators made their appearance, have we gotten lost or taken a wrong turn? Maybe we don’t remember anymore, or maybe we haven’t counted them, but it’s thanks to those wrong turns that we saw the loveliest places of our trip, ate in the most charming restaurants, tasted local specialties and met special people.

And how many times, when telling our friends about our trips, have we described these details, these memories, and forgotten to mention what seemed to be the most important part of the itinerary, the destination?

The conception of driving is changing more and more rapidly, because we live with technological instruments that “bombard” us with information and communications. As the popularity of the so-called “assisted/autonomous” driving mode spreads, this tendency will increase, turning our trips into a sequence of instructions: basically, a bore.

I am not thrilled at the thought that an algorithm will advise me to stop in a predetermined spot, excluding who knows how many lovely places I might have discovered on my own. A trip will become a series of required legs, composed of rest areas, malls and “charging stations”. In any case, “something”, or an “app”, will be doing the planning and making the decisions for us.

Well, I won’t have it: I want to keep on getting lost, stopping when and where I want and speaking with whomever I please. I want to be doing the driving, with my hands on the wheel, shifting gears when I need to, taking turns and straightaways in stride. I want to hear the cylinders pump, I want to talk mechanics: above all, I DON’T want to give up my freedom.

All the places, people and experiences I want to share with you were not chosen by searching the web, or leafing through guidebooks: they are the best of trips and experiences I have personally had, in which I was guided by the philosophy outlined above, armed with an inexhaustible curiosity and desire to learn, listen, tell and be told.

Let us make our lives an ongoing journey, putting ourselves back at the center of things, experiencing unexpected sensations: let’s forget about the destination and come back home with a trunkful of genuine experiences.
